Durst Workflow 1.17.0 Release

With version 1.17.0, users can take advantage of several innovations in the environment of the Impose Editor, the Die Cut Management and the processing of Orders. In addition, improvements have been made to the data check, the management of print data and the VDP Editor, and further translations have been carried out.

Features

Impose Editor functions
You can access the following new features and extensions:
  • Multipage Double-Sided Nesting – the option to output a multipage, double-sided nesting has been added.
  • Remove Sheet duplicates – this function is available for the multipage, double-sided nesting mode.
  • Step & Repeat – the ‘Winding type’ function has been implemented to improve the rotation of items. This places items depending on the selected winding type.
  • Rotate individual Items – the rotation options in Nesting mode have been expanded to include four additional selection options – 0o, 90o, 180o and 270o.
  • Minimal Under / Overproduction – two new strategies – minimal underproduction and minimal overproduction – are available in Step & Repeat.
  • Add Dielines – dielines for columns and rows can now also be created for an irregular grid. The cutting lines are created within the sub-grid.
VDP Editor
  • New variable image tools – possibility to create masks for images in a variety of
    shapes.
  • Lock and unlock individual objects – variable elements can be temporarily locked or unlocked individually on layers.
  • Determine ratio for Code 39 – ratio of line and gap can be defined for it.
  • QR code extension – error correction levels and a variety of fixed sizes for QR codes are available.
  • Swiss QR code – has been added.
Tiling Assembly Instructions
This report provides an overview page for installation and a detail page for each tile and can also be used as an installation instruction.

Aleph LAFORTE
From this version onwards, direct control of the ”Aleph LAFORTE 400″ printer type has been implemented.

Cartes Laser Cutter

During the development of this version, the Cartes Laser Cutter device was integrated into the Workflow.

COLEX Finishing Solution
The Sharpcut Series of the COLEX Finishing Solution has been implemented in this version. The cutting tools can be configured and materials (cutting recipes) from the Sharpcut Series can be imported into the Workflow.

New data corrections
  • Step and Repeat – With this correction, repeating patterns can be repeated as often as required and placed in a predefined grid.
  • Tiling – Create vertical or horizontal tilings by entering the desired size or number of tiles as well as the printed and total overlap area.
Durst Workflow PDF Editor
The PDF Editor is connected to Durst Workflow, allowing for the direct control of incoming files. The software is a powerful tool that provides PDF optimization functionalities, simplifying the complexity of the PDF files.

Improvements

Import Mode for Substrate Import
In this version, it is now possible to create new substrates and substrate definitions when importing substrates from Durst printing systems and to map them to existing substrates and substrate definitions.

Show used Hotfolders
Helpful information on which hotfolder was used to create a production job is available.

Grid Chart
The preview of a Grid Chart is now displayed true to the output in the user interface as well as improved axis labeling.

Convert “White” to 0/0/0/0
This selected option will now only take effect if the color strategy has also been profiled with white.

Activities – Filtering for Processes
In the Workflow activity list, it is possible to filter the list of processes by type – e.g. Send to printer, Check-in, Report created etc. – to filter.

PDF Printer
In this version, it is now possible to parameterize a PDF printer when creating a print configuration for the output.

Die Cut Management

For the first time, 1.17.0 allows users to manage One-Ups and N-Ups, use the One-Up for data preparation and finally assemble a Die-Cut (N-Up) with the appropriate items.

One-Up
One-Ups that have been exported from a CAD program can be uploaded as a template, provided with the necessary parameters and saved. A design template can now be exported as a PDF and sent to the end customer.

N-Up
A N-Up, which has also been exported from a CAD program, can be uploaded as a template in the Workflow. The associated One-Up is linked so that this N-Up can be filled automatically at a later date. A user-defined filling sequence can also be stored.

Sheet ID
To enable traceability per print sheet for a VariJET 106, a sheet ID in the form of a code can be added in the Impose editor.

Waste number in N-Up

In order to better control further processing, areas to be broken out can be provided with a so- called waste number.

One-Up Number in a One-Up

A One-Up Number can be added to stored One- Ups. This number is filled in automatically if this One-Up is linked to a N-Up. In the Die Cut mode of the Impose Editor, the user is shown how many One-Ups are placed on the sheet.
