Release – 1.20.1 (Minor Release)
13. August 2025

Version 1.20.1 introduces several new features for users in the Impose Editor, including the new User Interface, Process Automation, as well as Data Check and Data Preparation.

Added
Impose Editor: Nesting – Frames for Groups – Starting with this version, it is possible to add a black frame around a group of Print Items in the Impose Editor. Additionally, a caption can be created for this group. [PPDWF-10037] [PPDWF-9476] [PPDWF-9463]
Added
Impose Editor: Nesting – Shape Nesting with Faster Calculation – Processing time for Shape Nesting has been significantly reduced in this version, especially for the strategy "Keep exact ratio of copies", due to improvements in the calculation logic. [PPDWF-9866]
Added
Impose Editor: Tiling – Tile Number – In version 1.20.1, in addition to the existing sequential numbering of individual Tiles, a column and row designation – A1, B1, C1, A2, B2, C2, etc. – is now also provided for Tiling. This information is also visible in the Mounting Instructions. [PPDWF-9767] [PPDWF-10209]
Added
Impose Editor: Tiling – Expose View – In the "Expose view", individual Tiles are now displayed in their original size, even if the dimensions of the Impose Sheet are not cropped. [PPDWF-10258]
Added
Impose Editor: Die Cut – Start Position for "Marks and Captions" – The function "Horizontal Origin" for marks and captions, available since version 1.19.1, is now also supported in the "Die Cut" imposition mode. [PPDWF-10310]
Added
Impose Editor: Dielines – Stroke Width less than 1 pt – When adding Dielines in the Finishing tab of the Impose Editor, it is now possible to enter a "Stroke Width" that is less than 1 pt. [PPDWF-10132]
Added
Check "Glyphs missing in an embedded Font" – This new check identifies all missing glyphs in embedded fonts within the PDF file. [PPDWF-10376]
Added
Check "Text is smaller than" – Starting with this version, this check includes options to ignore certain text types outside defined PageBoxes. Additionally, it is now possible to apply the Fixup to defined text types. [PPDWF-10223]
Added
Hiding a Layer without a Layer Name – Layers of the type OCCD (Optional Content Configuration Dictionary) define which layers are visible when the PDF file is opened. These layers do not contain a layer name and therefore do not have any objects. Starting with this version, these layers are no longer displayed in the tab Page Information of the detail view of an Article or Print Item. [PPDWF-10453]
Added
Preventing the Display of Errors when applying Fixups – Previously, the presence of OCCD-type layers caused errors when executing Fixups on layers. These errors are no longer displayed by ignoring this layer type. [PPDWF-10454] In addition, other related errors during Fixups – such as the absence of available layers for selection – have also been fixed. [PPDWF-9079] [PPDWF-10448]
Added

Improved
"Fotoba XLA" Cutter Device – Print Item Width – This version provides the ability to generate a valid Imposition for the "Fotoba XLA" Cutter Device when using Print Items of different widths within the same Imposition. The system also calculates the required information for the Cutter Device, e.g., the correct positioning of cutting knives or the generation of different barcodes at the beginning or end of the Imposition, depending on the origin of the cutting information. Fixed
Print Item Editor – Extracting Barcodes – When extracting barcodes from multipage PDFs, the Print Item Editor could become inactive if a page from the document had not been previously prepared in the system. This behavior has been fixed. [PPDWF-11022]
Fixed
Fotoba XLA Cut File – Error – When using the Fotoba XLA in a Nesting Imposition with Print Items of different sizes – e.g., after splitting a Tiling – the cut width was previously determined based solely on the first page of the multipage Nesting. This led to incorrect cropping for Tiles with different dimensions. This error has been fixed. Starting with this version, a new barcode is now assigned per page for Print Items with different sizes, ensuring correct cutting behavior. [PPDWF-10099]
Fixed
Production Job – Output Template – A modified Output Template in the Production Job was overwritten with the default values of the Output Template when the Production Job was reopened. This behavior has been fixed. [PPDWF-10866]

Fixed
Quick Print – Deleting Empty Bundles – Empty Bundles could not be deleted in the tab "History Quick Prints". This behavior has been fixed. [PPDWF-10001]
Fixed
Production Job – Rendering – In some cases, the Job Ticket was send to the printer before all separations had been fully written, resulting in missing separations. This bug has been fixed. [PPDWF-10471]
Fixed
Render – 270° Rotation – When sending a Production Job to the printer using the dialog Send to Printer with a 270° rotation, the output was sometimes generated without separations. This issue has been fixed. [PPDWF-10495]
Fixed

Fixed
Spot Color Definition – Creating Technical Spot Colors – When creating Spot Colors as Technical Colors in the dialog "Create Spot Color Definition" of an Article or Print Item, these colors could not be used to generate cut paths for Cutter Devices. This problem has been fixed by removing the option to create Technical Spot Colors in this dialog. [PPDWF-9510] [PPDWF-10143]
Fixed
Automation Job – Cut File – When using the Operations "Create Impose" and "Create Production Job from Imposition", no Cut File was generated if a Cutter Device was selected in the respective Operation. This error has been fixed. [PPDWF-8080]
Fixed
Production Configuration – Operation "Create Imposition" – Up to this version, the Operation "Create Impose" could be added multiple times within a Production Configuration. This behavior has now been disabled, and the Operation can only be used once per Production Configuration. [PPDWF-9673]

This behavior has been fixed. [PPDWF-10328]
Fixed
Production Job – Tags – When setting Tags for multiple Production Jobs at the same time, the Tags were not applied correctly. This behavior has been fixed so that Tags now apply properly to all selected Production Jobs. [PPDWF-10403]
Fixed
Production Job – Deleting a Print Item – Previously, once a Print Item was sent to the printer, it could no longer be deleted from the Production Job. This behavior has been fixed. [PPDWF-10585]
Fixed
Spot Color Report – Fixed Color Values – If a Spot Color's defined color value was set to "0", the value was not displayed correctly in the Spot Color Report. This behavior has been fixed. [PPDWF-10485]
Fixed
Die Cut Library – Adding Numbering for One-Ups – Print numbering for One-Ups was not working. This error has been fixed, restoring the ability to perform print numbering. [PPDWF-10394]
Fixed
Nesting – Flaps with rounded corners – Previously, both outer and inner corners of flaps were rounded. This behavior has been fixed. Now, only the outer corners are rounded as intended. [PPDWF-9873]
Fixed
Tiling – Including Captions – Activating the option "Include Captions" caused partially unusable results. The behavior has been addressed and resolved, ensuring captions are correctly included. [PPDWF-10155]
Fixed
Step & Repeat – Display warning – In the Impose Editor, when the mark "Origin" was set to Impose Sheet, in a multipage Step & Repeat, no warning appeared if all pages were identical except for the Print Item caption. For all other origins, a warning was displayed in this case. This behavior has been fixed – the warning is now also displayed for the "Origin" Impose Sheet. [PPDWF-10018]
